Students of 6th class have been working on a project on olives and olive oil of course which is so important in the Mediterranean diet. We use it in cooking a lot, in salads, sweets, and as part of the project we made the olive pastries at school.
Ingredients
Olives without the kernel
One glass of seed oil or olive oil
2 blended oranges (without the peel)
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
Sesame seeds
Flour
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients. Add as much flour as to make a soft dough. Take a little dough in your hand, put an olive and close so as to make a small- sized ball (it is going to expand during baking). Roll the ball on the sesame seeds so that it is covered with sesame. Bake in medium heat oven for 15-20 minutes.

Other ingredients commonly included are additional grated or chopped fresh fruit (e.g., bananas, apples, berries, grapes, mango), dried fruit, milk products (e.g., yogurt, cream, condensed milk, cottage cheese, or nondairy milk substitutes), lemon juice, ground nuts, seeds, spices (especially cinnamon), honey and muesli mix.
